Uniquely Formulated for Powerful and Long-lasting Pain Relief1,25,28

DUROLANE is a non-animal, high-molecular weight, stabilized hyaluronic acid. It is stabilized using a carefully controlled cross-linking process that increases the intra-articular residence time.1,25,26

The process of lightly cross-linking hyaluronic acid molecules in DUROLANE (0.5%-1%) changes the physical properties of the hyaluronic acid, forming a three-dimensional gel.1,29

This unique technology allows for a half-life of 4 weeks or 30 days in the knee joint, following a single-injection.25

DUROLANE has a longer half-life than unstabilized hyaluronic acid or cross-linked Synvisc® (hylan G-F 20).30,31

The most common side effects of DUROLANE treatment in hip and knee studies were described as transient pain, stiffness and/or swelling localised to the joint. These adverse events were mild or moderate in intensity.32

DUROLANE is safe for repeated courses of therapy. Studies investigating repeated treatment 6 months following the initial injection did not cause an increased rate of adverse events.2,32

Preclinical residence time has not been correlated with the duration of clinical effect.
