Do What You Love Longer.
When osteoarthritis affects a joint, DUROLANE hyaluronic acid therapy can help naturally relieve osteoarthritis pain. Hyaluronic acid is responsible for the qualities that allow synovial fluid (joint fluid) to lubricate and protect the cartilage and surrounding tissues in your joints.1
*While not specifically studied in the Altman et al analysis,9 DUROLANE belongs to the hyaluronic acid class of treatments, and has been found to perform similarly to the hyaluronic acid brands that were analysed in Altman study, as seen in these other studies: DUROLANE vs. Synvisc®/Synvisc-One®, McGrath et al;4 and DUROLANE vs. SUPARTZ®, Zhang et al.28
Even mild to moderate osteoarthritis pain can stop you in your tracks
A healthy joint has thick and elastic synovial fluid that lubricates and cushions the joint, protecting it from damage.1 Joints affected by osteoarthritis no longer benefit from the properties of healthy synovial fluid.

As the first-line treatment for osteoarthritis knee pain, doctors commonly recommend analgesics, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors.
Steroid injections are a secondary therapy, recommended if a patient isn’t getting adequate relief with oral painkillers.2 Recently, some studies have suggested repeated steroid injections should be performed with caution, due to a risk of further cartilage volume loss.11,12
